Throughout high school I loved being a member of choir, (senior voice and gospel) and orchestra, I also had private singing and flute lessons, alongside dance lessons each week.  Balancing so many extracurricular activities sometimes felt like too much work, however, it didn’t hinder my work ethic or mentality, it actually helped my mental health, as it provided a welcome distraction to my issues and gave me a creative outlet where I could focus on something else. As I have gotten older music has become more and more prominent in my life and is now something I now spend every day doing. My mental health has been something I’ve struggled with for the past couple of years however, song writing has been one of the most important and beneficial outlets for me, as I am able to create raw, honest lyrics and music capturing my emotions and using my thoughts in a creative way, when I write I no longer feel surrounded by a cloud of negativity. I really hope that my music continues to be something that not only makes a positive change to my own wellbeing but helps and inspires others and is an industry I can spend my future in.
